Free Write Community Service

In community Service we went on two trips for two different walks the Autism And AIDS walk.

I enjoyed myself on the Autism walk. I didn’t know that a bunch of people had it in New York City. I also didn’t know that it is very expensive to take care of a person that has Autism. Two of my family members have Autism and I know it takes a lot of work to take care of them on a daily bases. They have to be checked on a regular bases. You have to shower them, clothe them, feed them, etc. I have never been on a Autism walk before but my father and I have donated money to the cause at a nursing home. I liked how they let people sing songs on a stage there at the Autism walk. It was good to see the amount of people at the Autism walk supporting people with Autism.

I also enjoyed myself on the AIDS walk. I walked in the AIDS walk before with my uncle and a couple of his friends. I enjoyed walking with my friends for a good cause. I wished we could of walked till the end. It was also good seeing groups of people wearing the same thing and united as one for a good cause. I like the shirts that the YMCA gave us to wear for the AIDS walk. I also liked seeing the cheerleaders do there cheers at the AIDS walk. Also the people that were at different checkpoints were funny and bring up the hype so people wouldn't realize how long the walk was.  If I had a chance to go to one of the walks again I would.

Passion Class of 2k15

I am very passionate about graduating from Thurgood Marshall Academy for Learning and Social Change (TMA). I been in TMA for 6 and 1/2  years. It was a good time here and had a lot of  unforgettable moments. In middle school it was a growing stage for us from becoming immature to mature. In middle school we played around a lot and got our work done, In high school we had less time to have fun and more time to be in the books. But I realized as you grow and you advance to the next grade the work gets harder but they overall prepare you to be more responsible in different ways. I appreciate all the teachers that gave us that extra push that we needed to better ourselves to become better people. For teaching us the right and not the wrong way of doing stuff. I am happy to further my education and go to Onondaga Community College. I hope their they give me a great experience like the one I got at TMA. People say college is where a person finds there self and how they will end up in the futher. College should give me a chance to see how I can live by myself without my parents. I hope that I will do well and pass all my classes with high grades. After that I hope I can transfer to a 4 year college and even further my education to become a better person and gain more knowledge.

Short Story Vocabulary

1. Rakish - Bryan rakish more than others because he is the tallest person on the basketball team.
2. Hastily - I hastily to school when I'm running late.
3. Haggard - Tim looked haggard after practicing for 4 hours and eating 3 packs of M&Ms before practice.
4. Brazen - Henry was brazen after getting caught cheating on a test.
5. Emancipated - I feel emancipated when I write things on Facebook because I can write what I want.
6. Divulged - I divulged my friends secrets when I was mad at him.
7. Reiterate - I kept reiterating to my friend about a test because he has to pass or he will get left back.
8. Jockey - The jockey got all the credit for wining the horse race but the horse did most of the work.
9. Beleaguer - The ship was beleaguer because it was carrying illegal nuclear weapons.
10. Paroxysm - UFC fighters fight paroxysm to gain a advantage over there opponent.
11. Ascetic - People are ascetic by there religion because most people are judgmental.
12. Parapet - there is a parapet on the bridge so people won't sccidentally lean forward and fall.
13. Traversed- I traversed across a bridge everyday to go to school.
14. Brooding - Sam was looking brooding after his girlfriend broke up with him.
15. Imperious - James showed imperious to a assistant principle thinking he was the principle.
16. Interminable - highway 95 felt interminable trying to drive to Florida.

Passion

I show a lot of passion in the sports teams that I like. I have two main sports that I like. I like basketball and football. For football I only have two favorite teams. I like the Green Bay Packers in thee NFL, and I like the LSU in College Football. Since its football they don't play a lot of games so whenever they are on T.V I try to make time to watch there games. If my teams win or lose I'm still riding with them all the way. In basketball I like the Chicago Bulls, Sacramento Kings, and Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA. I also like the Duke Blue Devils in College Basketball. In basketball they always play more games then in football. So I try to watch them when they are playing other good teams in the league. Or when they play the Knicks or Nets because there games always come on T.V. I also watch them when their in the playoffs and when they are in the NCAA Tournament. I always rep my teams all the time. When people talk bad about them I defend them. I will never turn my back on my teams.

Basketball

I always watched basketball since I was a little boy. When I was young I was a fan of a lot of players in the NBA. I was a fan of Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Paul Pierce, etc. They were the best at the time. I liked the way they would go at it on the court and try to out score each other and give their teams the win. But since 2008 I have a favorite player and his name is Derrick Rose. I saw some of his games in college and when he came to the NBA there was something about him that I liked. Ever since then I was a Derrick Rose fan. More and more over time I started watching more college basketball games and I didn't know that there was so much hype surrounded by it. The teams I mostly watched in college basketball was teams from North Carolina like Duke University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,and North Carolina State University. All those teams are rivalries against each other. When they play each other no one knows what to expect. You can be endured in a great game. After time I picked my favorite team out of all of them and that is Duke University. I liked that they have a great coach. Their fan base and home court is ridiculous.

In Statistics we are learning about frequency distribution table. How to set up a table filling in the data that is given. Also we are learning to put the data we got from doing the frequency distribution into different graphs. The four graphs that we are using is frequency histogram, relative frequency histogram, polygon frequency, and ogive. We are also learning about stem and leaf plot. Also how to use two data tables and put them on the same stem and leaf plot. We are recently learning about the dot plot and how to graph it using a frequency histogram. In Gym we have a project coming up on to make a fitness routine for someone we know older then 25. We have to ask them a bunch of questions on the paper that the gym teacher we give us. In Government we are learning about the different branches of government and what are there roles. We learned that no branch of government is more powerful then the other. We are also learning about different court cases. I have a project next week on a Supreme Court case (Deshaney vs. Winnebago County Social Services). In College Readiness we are doing our SUNY and CUNY application. We also have to find 2 scholarships that we qualify for. I also look up different colleges that I am interested in learning about more. In Forensic we are learning about autopsy and we recently watched a autopsy video of a doctor cuting the body and taking out its different organs/

Bleacher Report (SSR)

For the past 4 years now I have been using a app called Bleacher Report(http://bleacherreport.com/). It has articles about all types of sports and different things that is going on with the players, teams,etc.

I like using this app because it tells me all about the different things that is going on in different sports that I like to watch. I personally like to watch College Basketball, College Football, NBA, NFL, and Boxing. Bleacher Report helps me learn about things that are going on with the teams. Like if there was a argument in the locker room after a game Bleacher Report will post a article about it to let me know all the insides of what happen and possibly how it happened. I also like it becomes it brings up notifications on my phone about the scores of a game and it lets me know if the game is close or is it a blow out win. It also lets me know the status of different players injures. It lets me know the usual recover time for the injury. I overall like the app because it lets me learn different things from other sports.
